One of the symbolic wine regions in the world, Italian pride, a delight for the palate and the eyes.

The annual production is close to 3 million hectoliters per year thanks to the almost 60,000 hectares of vineyards, mostly located in hilly areas, where the vine finds the right environment to express itself at its best and give wines of very high average quality; the training systems are very varied, the most typical of which are the Tuscan bow and the Guyot with spurred cordon.

The areas of excellence in the region are: Montalcino, Chianti Classico, Bolgheri, Montepulciano, Carmignano and San Gimignano.

Viticulture has been present in the area since the time of the Etruscans but it was only in the Middle Ages that wine production began to continue; in 1282 the Guild of Vinattieri was founded, and in 1300 the famous Black Rooster, symbol of Chianti Classico, appeared for the first time.

In 1960 Tuscany achieved definitive consecration on a global level thanks to the Super Tuscans, complex, harmonious, structured wines produced with the use of the great international wines to which Sangiovese was added.
