Margaret River Warner Glenn Chardonnay 2017 x 3

Harvested by hand, the grapes are destemmed and then left in contact with the skins for 5 days in 1000 liter food-grade plastic tanks. Wine produced without the use of pumps but only with buckets and siphons, indigenous yeasts, spontaneous malolactic fermentation, no filtration or addition of sulphur. Wood is banned to preserve the purity of the fruit. Chardonnay that enjoys contact with the air: wisteria and grapefruit, mimosa and cedar. It has a contagious drinkability and flavor density with only 11% vol. of alcohol. Tonic and lively, medium-light weight, a wine with a disturbing delicacy.

Margaret River Warner Glenn Red 2017 x 3, Merlot 67% Cabernet Sauvignon 33%

From pre-phylloxera vines planted on soil with a high percentage of gravelly loam. The grapes are destemmed and then left to macerate in contact with the skins for 14 days. Fermentation ends and refines in 1000 liter plastic containers. The purity of the fruit is impressive on the nose: blackcurrant, aromatic herbs, bay leaves, liquorice, all supported by gusts of fresh mint. The sip is vigorous, full and at the same time smooth with silky and smooth tannins.

By all accounts, Sam Vinciullo is one of Australia’s most interesting young producers. After having had some experiences between California and Sicily (on Etna with Cornelissen), in 2015 he decided to return to Australia to open his own company.

His non-interventionist philosophy, combined with his obsessive search for the purity of the fruit (there is no wood in the cellar), already from these first vintages gives wines of extraordinary cleanliness, crystalline finesse and profound recognisability.
