OK, let's admit it without mincing words, the first time we heard about piwi wines we laughed it off and thought it was the usual fad of the moment. In reality, not only is it a way of understanding wine in line with our own, but it really represents a revolution.

What are piwi wines
These are wines made from vines with a high resistance to fungus, whose cultivation allows a significant reduction of treatments in the vineyard.
Sustainable and eco-friendly
If you are not yet familiar with our philosophy on wine breeding, we recommend reading this article; here we simply say that using a fungus-resistant grape helps to remove chemicals from the vineyard, which benefits the environment and the consumer, in the latter case also in terms of taste pleasure.

Where do we find piwi grapes?!
Producing piwi grapes is a practice that in Europa is receiving a lot of support and interest, and is now also becoming a trend in the United States.
PIWI are already widespread in European wine-growing countries. But planting PIWI vines is also a trend in America.
How are these grapes obtained?
We finally come to the definition of how the piwi grape is born.
They are crosses of Vitis genera, in which the exceptional characteristics of the grape varieties themselves are combined in order to increase their resilience to external agents.
The selection of this grape and its breeding give rise to new and innovative grape varieties that enable viticulture to be sustainable.
They are produced using the classical method of vine training, not with molecular scissors, but in the vineyard
