The Dassaults are historically a family of investors, present in the world of aeronautics, new technologies and even in the artistic field.
Since 1955 also in that of good wine, of which they are passionate. So they took over the Chateau Couperie and began to work hard to improve the estate in every way, which they renamed.
The efforts were fully rewarded when in 1969 Chateau Dassault was elevated to the rank of Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classè.
In 2002 the Dassaults purchased the prestigious Chateau La Fleur, a magnificent property, and in 2013 the Chateau Faurie de Souchard, coming to own over 50 hectares in total.
Since 1995 the owner has been Laurence Brun, who succeeds his father Andrè Vergiette.
The company works with respect for the territory and the maturity of the grapes. The vinification takes place in the majority of situations in steel tanks, and only a small part of the whole bunch ferments in barriques, those that come from the most representative crus of the estate. The aging is always in French oak for a period ranging from 14 to 18 months.
