Coste della Sesia Castellengo is a red wine produced by Centovigne in Cossato and obtained from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, harvested manually, which come from a hilly area rich in marl, sand and gravel. Three-week maceration and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement, aging for 24 months in non-first passage French oak, then another 12 in the bottle without filtration or clarification. Coste della Sesia Castellengo is an elegant red with great potential, it is fresh and slender, savory and long, and the tannin is dense but polite. The grapes come from a slightly hilly area whose soil is composed of sea sand, gravel and marl. Spontaneous fermentation and maceration on the skins for about 3 weeks then refinement for 2 years in oak barrels and rest for a year in the bottle

Dried flowers and strong hints of berries open a nose in which toasting, leather, light hints of sweet spices, minerals and liquorice follow one another.

Dynamic and slightly aromatic sip with dense and polite tannin, it is savory and elegant, persistent

The first documents that talk about this company date back to 1682, the year in which a document dates back to the list of how many presses, barrels and vats were located inside the Castellengo crote.

Production continued without stopping until 1940 and then stopped until 1999, when the new owners took over the company.

The passion for the archaeological recovery of the ancient vineyards of the area has led them to the rediscovery and valorization of numerous micro-vineyards.
