The grapes come from a soil characterized by Loess, the fermentation is spontaneous with maceration on the ten-day skins, the refinement is in steel for 12 months, a further year in the bottle before being put on the market.
Many petals of dried red flowers accompany an incredible multitude of berries in jam, ranging from blueberries to blackcurrants, from strawberry to cherry, then hints of animals and mushrooms, of undergrowth and minerals, spicy and earthy, with clear returns of wild herbs
Fine and elegant like a Pinot Noir from Burgundy, hard and rustic like a wine that comes from this area, fresh and with great flavour, aromatic and with great tannins, persistent
Serving temperature 18°-20°

Inspired by the great Pinot Noirs of Burgundy

Wagram, Oberstockstall (Austria)
The Salomons have been the owners of Gut Oberstockstall since 1869 and together with Josef Jamek they were the first to plant grape varieties from Burgundy in Austria.
The entire Wagram area, located north-east of Vienna, is characterized by Loess, a sandy territory dating back to the ice age when African winds brought a lot of sand to this area.
The company is now run by Fritz and Brigit, it covers a total of 100 hectares including wooded areas and others intended for animal breeding, 14 are under vineyards.
Since 2005 the estate has followed the dictates of biodynamics.
“I am convinced that only conscious and respectful agriculture is able to fully represent the expressive power of the vineyard and thus have authentic wines.
Furthermore, I know that, if the land is cultivated carefully and sustainably throughout the year, it will not be necessary to intervene during winemaking. This holistic approach of mine allows for a great balance of the land and gives life to natural products that are extremely faithful to their territory.”
