Jauma Thousand Fires Chenic Arneis 2021

Thousand Fires Chenin Arneis is a white wine made from Chenin Blanc and Arneis from Jauma in McLaren Vale. The grapes ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and have different maceration times; then pressed, the wine is only made in steel, where it ages for 6 months and is subsequently bottled with a homeopathic dose of sulfur dioxide only if necessary. Lots of fruit on the nose with hints of honey and aromatic herbs, in the mouth it’s fresh and fun, playful! We recommend trying it with a white pizza filled with chicken salad

The grapes are destemmed and subsequently ferment spontaneously in steel with indigenous yeasts and longer maceration of Arneis compared to Chenin, which is pressed first. Aging for 6 months in steel and bottling without filtration or clarification but with a homeopathic dose of sulfur dioxide

James Erskine first worked as a sommelier traveling the world.

He then returned to Australia to study oenology and became a wine producer by founding his own Jauma winery, a wonderful 1867 structure built in sandstone.

Erskine works together with Fiona Wood, an expert in natural viticulture.
