The grapes come from very old vines that grow on clayey soil, the yield is very low; the fermentation is spontaneous with maceration for 4 months in 400 liter tinajas then steel and bottling without the addition of sulphites
Unusual nose, hints of caramel and capers, walnut husk and eggnog, dried yellow flowers and pulpy candied fruit, very mineral
Fresh and light, savory and of incredible persistence, the tannin is noticeable and gives personality to a truly rare sip
Serving temperature 12°-14°
Grilled squid and squid
The name is a dedication to the slope called O Chao, near the village of Seadur, and the wine is a very rare pearl
*This bottle can be purchased without additional costs only in combination with other bottles from the same selection a>. Otherwise, the shipping costs expected for each individual country will be added, until the free port is reached.
Valdeorras, Galicia
La Perdida is the story, and the rediscovery, of a territory of great tradition but almost lost, forgotten. Difficult to work with but also of great potential.
We are in Valdeorras, in Galicia, where Nacho Gonzales, a biologist, inherits his first vineyard from his grandmother O Troncado. Others will follow for a total of 4 hectares.
On the one hand, Nacho’s wines are experimental, on the other tremendously fascinating and products of local tradition.
No chemistry in any of the production phases, it is vinified in Tinaja, traditional terracotta amphora, or in large and clearly used barrels. The yields are minimal and the wines have great personality.
The most curious thing is that the rows are mixed, in the sense that the vineyards are not varietal and therefore at a distance of a few tens of meters you can come across different grapes, those that are part of local history, Palomino, Godello, Garnache Tintonera , Mencia and Sumoll. As it was once done, in fact the vineyards are more than 80 years old.
