Essencia is the pure liquid that drips freely from the container where the grapes with the noble mold are collected: thus a must is obtained with a very high concentration of sugars whose subsequent fermentation takes place very slowly only thanks to indigenous yeasts, the only ones be able to ferment with such quantities of sugar. Essencia must have a minimum of 250 gr/lt. of sugar but can reach up to 800 g/l, when it goes close to this threshold it is called Nektar
Fragrant with hints of caramel and chocolate, honey and resin, balsamic notes and mineral notes
Very sweet but supported by a freshness that always makes it fun to drink, full, round and very enjoyable
Serving temperature 14°-20°
Roquefort, Stilton and spicy Gorgonzola
An exceptional wine produced in exceptional years

The Monyok Winery was founded in 1972 by the father of the current owner Norbert Monyok. There
vineyard property is 18 hectares located on slopes historically known for growing some of the best
Tokaji cru: Nyulaszo – Betsek – Donzka. There are 4 cultivated varieties: Hárslevelű (30%) – Furmint (30%) –
Sárgamuskotály (30%) – Oremus (10%). The Monyok cellar has a surface area of 1500 m2. and extends for 600
mt. along tunnels that reach up to 20 meters. of depth. These typical wineries in the area have the
characteristic of having constant temperatures all year round around 11° and humidity around 90-95%, which
allows the slow fermentation of wines/musts and the formation of a particular mold that permeates all
walls giving the wines the characteristic aroma that distinguishes them. Located in the extreme north-east
of Hungary the Tokaji region is protected to the north by the Carpathian and Zemplen mountains, while to the south opens up the great
Hungarian plain. The Tokaj hills are very high and almost 700 meters high, the vineyards extend from 200 to
at 400 meters; two rivers, the Bodrog and the Tisza, surround the territory and are responsible for the humidity in autumn
it is essential for the formation of noble rot. The climate is continental, very hot in summer and mild in
autumn, with humid winds coming from the south; the winters are very harsh.
