Produced with Sangiovese grapes selected within the company, including those coming from the volcanic areas of nearby Monte Amiata, Piadorino is a wine that ages very well, of great class, with fruity and intense hints , due to the clayey soil from which the grapes come. The age of the vineyards involved, Cancello Rosso, Pian dell’Orino and Pian Bassolino, ranges from 10 to almost 20 years. It ferments for approximately 9 days at a maximum of 29°C and matures for 18 months in 12.5 hl oak barrels.

Pleasant and intense, broad bouquet. Red fruit, undergrowth and dark petaled flowers. Balsamic and vegetal puffs. Spicy.

Generous in body and flavour, fresh and with a great evolving, persistent tannin

Caroline Pobitzer is a South Tyrolean woman with a passion for Tuscany and good wine. He then decides to move to Montalcino and found a company, Pian dell’Orino. His consultant was a German agronomist and oenologist, Jan Hendrik Erbach, but their relationship soon blossomed into love, and now the couple, more passionate and determined than ever, are together in the company’s saddle.

In the 6 hectares of the biodynamically managed company, the only grape variety grown and pampered is Sangiovese.

Everything at Pian dell’Orino, from the vineyard to the cellar, is aimed at allowing this noble vine to express itself at the highest levels, giving fleshy, savory and rich wines, the fruit of Mediterranean passion and Teutonic precision. Above all, the fruit of wisdom and patience!
