Pithos Bianco 2022 Cos

Pithos Bianco is a white wine produced by Azienda Agricola Cos in Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa, and obtained from 100% Grecanico grapes, harvested manually, coming from lands rich in iron and limestone. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in 400 liter terracotta amphorae with maceration for 6 months and subsequent refinement in cement for at least another 6 months. Pithos Bianco is a tribute to the Mediterranean scrub and the scents of the island, with salty notes and white flowers, light citrus and prickly pear, then herbaceous and mineral hints. In the mouth it is very drinkable, fresh and tasty, its medium body makes it perfect in combination with seafood first courses

Did you know that COS is the acronym of the initials of the names of the three founders of the company?

They are Titta Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti, Cirino Strano and they gave birth to COS in 1980.

The three inherited (for rent) the old family cellar of Giuseppe Cilia, father of Titta and vineyard.

In these 30 years of experience they have revolutionized Cerasuolo di Vittoria.

They profess the Biodionic “faith” and minimal intervention in the vineyard.

Theirs is also very interesting with the Spanish amphorae purchased now, 20 years ago
