Sierra de Gredos, Avila (Spain)

We are in the pueblo of El Tiemblo, in the Sierra de Gredos region less than an hour west of Madrid, here the climate is continental and the territory is hilly with decidedly clayey sandy soil. The temperature variations are powerful.

This is the kingdom of Fabio Bartolomei, an iconic winemaker of Italian origin, born in Glasgow but Spanish by adoption.

Fabio produces around 25,000 bottles obtained partly from his own hectares of property and partly from the grapes supplied by the surrounding winemakers with whom he has been collaborating for several years. The common denominator is healthy and natural viticulture, without the use of systemic chemistry, Fabio controls the production chain obsessively.

His back labels are a manifesto of his idea of ​​making wine, without the help of pesticides, chemical fertilizers or synthetic products, without fining or filtering.
