Frappato 2023 Cos

Frappato is a red wine produced by Azienda Agricola Cos in Vittoria, Sicily, and obtained from 100% Frappato di Vittoria. The grapes come from rich red lands rich in sand and limestone, after manual harvesting they are destemmed and left to ferment spontaneously with native yeasts in cement, where they macerate and refine for 6 months, subsequently the wine is bottled with a homeopathic addition of sulfur dioxide, and rests here for about 6 months. Frappato is a convivial wine with very identifiable hints of violet and cherry, then returns of aromatic grass and minerals, in the mouth it is fresh, light and dynamic, to be combined with pasta alla standard

Did you know that COS is the acronym of the initials of the names of the three founders of the company?

They are Titta Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti, Cirino Strano and they gave birth to COS in 1980.

The three inherited (for rent) the old family cellar of Giuseppe Cilia, father of Titta and vineyard.

In these 30 years of experience they have revolutionized Cerasuolo di Vittoria.

They profess the Biodionic “faith” and minimal intervention in the vineyard.

Theirs is also very interesting with the Spanish amphorae purchased now, 20 years ago
