Domaine des Bottes Rouges

Arbois, Jura Jean Baptiste Menigoz comes from a family of dairy farmers and worked as a teacher until 2000. It was in that year that he met another teacher who later became a producer, Raphael Monnier of Domaine Ratapoil, and together they decided to buy some land in Arbois, but their idea of wine is still conventional, although curiosity towards natural is not lacking. Jean Baptiste later enrolled at the Faculty of Oenology in Beaune, after which he attended an internship with Stephane Tissot, and his love for natural wine was definitively sparked. In 2012, he founded the Domaine des Bottes Rouges, which over the years has grown to a vineyard area of no less than 7 hectares, mainly in Trousseau, Poulsard and Savagnin. Minimal interventionism and therefore respect for nature are the company's cornerstones with long, whole cluster macerations, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and no addition of sulphur dioxide.
