Plješivica, Croatia Kreso Petrekovic is a Croatian who moved to Brooklyn to work as a wine representative. After thousands of bottles sold and hundreds of visits to the winery, he decides it is time to start making his own wine. Kreso comes from a family of small winemakers, and it is that artisanal tradition that he wants to follow to fulfil his own idea of wine. Natural viticulture banning all forms of chemistry and traditional winemaking without using indigenous yeasts or the addition of sulphur dioxide. Petrekovic now divides his time between New York, where he still works for Zev Rovine's Selection, and his homeland, on the border between Croatia and southern Styria, where his father oversees work in the vineyard and cellar.
