Montecchio, Emilia In the homeland of Lambrusco, Roberto Maestri has managed the Azienda Agrciola Quarticello since 2007, a 5-hectare estate certified organic since 2015. Roberto graduated in Viticulture and Oenology from the University of Bologna, and it was in 2007 that he decided to make wine from his own grapes, which the family had previously delivered to the winery. Quarticello's approach is absolutely natural and respects traditional processes, as he has always been used to drinking natural wine at home. Like all natural wine producers, he had to fight against prejudices and clichés before establishing himself, but this has not changed his production philosophy and he is now recognised as one of the most talented winemakers in the region.
