Sagrantino di Montefalco Francanton 2015 is an iconic red wine produced by Fongoli in Montefalco. The grapes come from extremely rich soil, ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and macerate 5 months with various cellar operations attached. The wine then matures for 5 years in oak barrels and is bottled without filtrations, clarifications or addition of sulphur dioxide and rests 6 months in glass. 🛁 The grapes come from silty clay soil, late harvesting by hand, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open terracotta jars, total maceration on the skins for 5 months with frequent cap breaking and pumping over, then soft pressing; the wine then matures for at least 5 years in Slavonian oak barrels of various passages with racking and oxygenation in the first few months, it is bottled without the addition of sulphur dioxide, filtrations or clarifications and rests for 12 months. Total sulphur dioxide 45 mg/l

👅 Rich and impetuous, enveloping and elegant, the tannin is fine and the finish soft and of great length
