Stefano Zoli
Matelica, Marche Matelica is an area with a strong vocation for white wines, and in recent years it has literally exploded. In fact, the Matelica valley can count on a crazy terroir, nestled between the Apennines, capable of giving wines great acidity, thanks to its incredible temperature ranges, and structure, thanks to the ancient limestone soils. What you get is a great mountain Verdicchio. At the age of 28, Stefano Zoli, the owner of the winery, enrolled in Viticulture and Oenology in Bologna, fell in love with Romagna's Sangiovese and met Aroldo Berelli, his mentor. He then bought a hectare, with 50-year-old vines and south-east exposure, in Matelica and began his story as a producer. His philosophy is sparingly interventionist, with operations carried out manually and great attention to nature.
